The story of this place

Kangaroo Island's Seal Bay is home to a wild colony of Australian sea lions (Neophoca cinerea) that has been monitored by researchers since the 1980s. Guided beach walks allow visitors to approach within metres of the resting sea lions on the sandy beach. The colony is most active in the early morning when sea lions return from overnight fishing. The surrounding coastal scenery includes the Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, accessible via the island's southern coast. Underwater encounters are possible during snorkelling excursions at nearby beaches.
