The story of this place

The Noosa Everglades are a system of pristine waterways in the upper reaches of the Noosa River, accessible only by kayak or guided electric boat tours. The 'River of Mirrors' — a stretch of perfectly still water reflecting paperbark trees, melaleucas and grass trees — is one of Queensland's most photogenic natural scenes. The reflections are best captured in the early morning when the water is windless. The surrounding Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park provides coastal heath, coloured sands and wilderness landscapes. The Everglades are part of the UNESCO Noosa Biosphere Reserve.
