The story of this place

Wineglass Bay is widely regarded as one of the world's top 10 beaches. The iconic composition is from the Wineglass Bay Lookout, a 45-minute uphill walk from the car park, which frames the crescent beach between the Hazards granite peaks. The beach itself is accessed via a further 45-minute descent. The Lookout provides the 'money shot' — the full crescent with turquoise water, white sand and granite backdrop. The Hazards' pink-tinged granite glows at sunrise. Isthmus Track provides elevated compositions from the saddle between Mount Amos and Mount Mayson. The walk to Mount Amos (3 hours return) gives the highest vantage point over the bay.
